Each processor memory bus will operate at up to 1600MHz with two (2) single-rank or dual-rank DIMMs per processor memory channel, up to 1333MHz with either one (1) quad-rank or two (2) single-rank/dual-rank DIMMs per processor memory channle, and 1066MHz with up to two (2) quad-rank or one (1) quad-rank and one (1) single-rank/dual-rank DIMMs per memory channel with standard voltage (1.5V) DIMMs.
Memory bus will operate one speed slower when low voltage (1.35V) memory is installed.
Installing two memory modules at a time per processor provides for addition performance, installing four at a time per processor provides for better performance, and installing equal amounts of memory for all processors provides for best performance.
4GB DDR3-1333 Reg ECC modules come in two versions: 313/4G using x4 and 3138/4G using x8 DRAM. The two parts may be installed in the same system but not within the same memory bank. Use like modules for dual and triple channel operation.
